Last tuesday our english class got to take a field trip. What kind of a field trip do you take for an english class? Do you head off to the library? Or a bookstore? Not with Chef Instructor Shuman! You get to go to the food expo at the Hotel Lumiere, so that you can write about it. Middendorf meats hosted the food expo, showing off mostly the products that they stock as well as some of their suppliers.
In order to write about it you must sample everything. And they had everything. There were meats, cheeses, breads, condiments and sauces. This was all on the main floor. I had to stop and take a couple of photos, below is one from the potato vendor. I learned all about the difference in french fries; from their length, moisture content, taste, texture and color to their ability to be portion controlled.
